While I technically arrived in Japan last evening, today was my first actual full day here. Since I was leaving Tokyo immediately today I thought I'd get in a bit of sightseeing before I left for Sendai.

The Kaminarimon Gate in the morning, usually crowded with hundreds of people during peak hour.

The Inner Gate to Sensoji Temple

Sensoji Temple itself.

Like with the Kaminarimon Gate, the usual crowds of tourists are absent at Sensoji Temple. However, because of it being so early in the morning the actual inside of the temple is yet to be opened to be viewed by the public.

The Tohoku 'Yamabiko' Shinkansen

After seeing other various things I wanted to see and grabbing a few bites to eat it was time to leave. I headed to the Ueno station to hop on one of the bullet trains going north to my next destination, Sendai, a city I've yet to visit during my trips to Japan.

Pokemon banners in the Sendai station.

Upon arriving at Sendai station one of the first sites to meet me was Pokemon banners for the newest games coming out Pokemon Violet and Scarlet.

The bus terminals just outside the station.

Upon exiting the station there was a notable drop in temperature compared to Tokyo, now it was starting to feel like the fall I was used to!

So with that I pulled on my hoodie and proceeded to the next hotel I would be staying at in Sendai for the next four nights to check in.

APA, a well established chain of hotels in Japan.

Once I checked in daylight began to start to fade fast so I decided to stay close to the hotel and just stroll around nearby to kill some time.

View of downtown Sendai from the AER building observation deck.

Walking down a shopping arcade with some Christmas decorations already up.

With that I headed back to the hotel. Having barely slept during my layover in LA because of all the jet noise, getting very little sleep on the plane, and barely sleeping at all my first night in Japan due to excitement I could feel the fatigue coming on strong so I decided to head to bed early to get the rest I needed for the next day.
